A top of Mt. Elbert at 14,433ft Michael asks me to take a picture of him with the hand held “14er” sign that he had wrote the night before and brought with him on our beautiful Fall hike to the summit. Always excited about attempting to capture the perfect Rocky Mountain view behind, I eagerly begin taking several pictures from all angles while standing on Colorado’s highest peak. Michael states, “Make sure you get the Maroon Bells!” I zoom in past Michael, focusing my lens on the most photographed peaks in America, and then adjust back, positioning Michael in the frame, looking through the camera only to now read the most unforgettable words and take the most unforgettable picture a girl can capture through her lens and in her heart.
Before I know it, I’m taking a picture of the rocks below me as our eyes lock, smiles connect and he walks his way towards mine, kneeling down and placing the most beautiful and meaningful ring on my left hand 3rd finger. I said yes.
